Great Apes
The images of Chimpanzees were taken in the Kibale Forest National Park. The day consisted of meeting up with the rangers early in the morning, and after first finding the chimps, then spending the day following them. An amazing experience to be up close with these wonderful creatures.
The Mountain Gorillas were also photographed in Uganda, but this time in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Following a long trek through beautiful forest, we were fortunate to spend an hour with a family group of around 13 individuals. We were able to witness them play, feed and sleep as they went about their every day business.
Finally, the images of Orangutans were taken on the island of Borneo. Borneo started as a single volcano beneath the sea. Millions of years ago, it erupted. Over time, smaller eruptions and earthquakes joined land together to form an island. Today Borneo is the third largest island, shared by Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei.
