Owls

This gallery is dedicated to owls, and in particular a barn owl. I had the pleasure of photographing a female locally for almost six years. She would visit my hide at dusk every night. It was thanks to her that my photography has progressed to where it is today. At the beginning I would photograph an owl on a post using flash. But as I gained experience and learnt about my subject, I was able to balance a small amount of fill in flash with the ambient light remaining. This allowed me to get creative.
