Deer

Of the six free living species in Britain today, only two are truly native to this country. One of these, the Red Deer is Britain's largest land mammal.

The second species included in this gallery are Fallow Deer. These are more exotic and almost certainly were brought into this country by the Normans. Smaller than the Red, the Fallow are the only species with palmate antlers.
